trustworthy government?

disappointed. it's the best word for how i feel about it.

an opportunity to improve the communication between us (the general people), and the people who are leading the country. an opportunity to enhance our options by reducing the strategic nature of voting and reducing the process to a simple wish list. in my opinion, a truly exciting potential to make a difference and give the people more power.

angry. another emotion that i feel on the matter.

whatever your preference on the alternative vote (AV), what angers me is that those who have taken up posts of responsibility and accountability to lead our country have once again proven their total lack of trustworthiness in promoting a decision for the people they are supposed to represent, choosing instead to promote their own agendas: the things that serve themselves best, and not the things that improve the choices and democratic powers of the people.

no doubt some will consider me naïve or at least idealistic (in a negative/unrealistic sense) for even bothering to express such a simple desire for honesty and integrity, but i am unable to surrender hope that we can work towards a better world.

so for today i am disappointed. but for tomorrow i still remain hopeful.
